NFC stands for Near Field Communication and describes a wireless technology that enables two devices to exchange data over just a few centimetres. Unlike RFID, it supports bidirectional communication. The short range arises from inductive coupling between two loosely coupled antenna coils and requires deliberate proximity for each connection. NFC enables controlled device interaction.
