V4L2

V4L2 (Video4Linux2) is the programming interface of the Linux kernel that applications use to access cameras and video inputs. It configures image format, resolution, exposure, capture, and image-data transfer. A Kernel Driver exposes source capabilities and registers. Buffering maintains a stable data stream at high frame rates. V4L2 supports reliable camera integration in embedded systems.
